SIX MONTH SMILES LONDON
THE ADVANTAGES OF SIX-MONTH SMILES
Typically, treatment lasts six months, which is how the name came about. This is one of the main reasons Six Month Smiles is an excellent choice when time is of the essence—it is much faster than undergoing extensive full mouth orthodontic treatment.
Additionally, Six Month Smiles are incredibly comfy. This is due to the fact that, unlike with comprehensive orthodontics, the braces are only placed on a few teeth.
Last but not least, Six Month Smiles are extremely covert. This is made possible by virtually invisible tooth-coloured brackets and wires. A mouth full of shiny metal is far less obvious than a six-month smile!
WILL THE SIX-MONTH SMILE PROCEDURE BE APPROPRIATE FOR ME?
The treatment would be perfect if you have:
TEETH GAPS
If there are discernible gaps between your teeth
CROWDED TEETH
If your teeth are too close together or overlap one another.
UNDERBITES
If the teeth and lower jaw protrude more than the upper jaw.
OVERBITES
If the teeth and upper jaw protrude more than the lower jaw.
CROSS-BITES
When you bite down if the teeth are positioned incorrectly.
OPENBITES
When you bite down if your teeth do not meet or touch.
OVERJETS
If the anterior teeth on your upper mandible extend beyond the gum line.
PHASE ONE
You must first come see us at Piccadilly Dental for a preliminary consultation. We will be able to determine at this appointment whether Six Month Smiles braces are the best course of treatment for you or if more extensive orthodontic treatment would be more appropriate.
PHASE TWO
Should you decide to proceed with Six Month Smiles and find yourself a good fit, you will need to return so we can take impressions of your teeth. After that, these will be sent to the lab so that your brace can be made. Before the wires are put in place, a patient tray kit ensures that the brackets are properly positioned to allow them to bond to your teeth.
PHASE THREE
Throughout your treatment, you will need to visit Piccadilly Dental roughly once a month. This is so that when your teeth begin to erupt into their new positions, we can make the minor adjustments to your brace that are required.
PHASE FOUR
To ensure that the teeth maintain their new positions after treatment is finished and the brace is taken off, you will be required to wear a retainer. This step is essential in each orthodontic treatment!
